Actos is made in the form of pills to take by mouth. This medical solution is usually taken once a day with or without food. Take Actos at around the same time every day. Follow the directions carefully, and ask your physician to explain any part you do not understand, Take pioglitazone (generic Actos) exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
Your physician may start you on a low dose of Actos and graduallyincrease your dose.
Swallow the pill whole; do not crush, chew or split it.
Actos controls type II diabetes but does not cure it. It may take 2 weeks for your blood sugar to lower and several weeks longer for you to feel the full effect of Actos. Continue to take Actos pill even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Actos without talking to your physician.
